I would like for you to join me in welcoming a new member of our All Saints Family. Mrs. Mary Hollowell is the new kindergarten/1st grade aide. She will be in our classroom in the morning to help out with all our needs. She will then be assisting the first grade class. Mrs. Hollowell has been involved in Catholic Education for the past 15 years. Many may know her from teaching the four year olds at St. Benedict's Pre-school. We are very excited that she has joined our team, the students have already made her feel very welcome :)

Welcome Back

‘Twas the Night Before School Started
‘Twas the night before school started,
When all through the town,
The parents were cheering.
It was a riotous sound!
By eight, kids were washed
And tucked into bed…
When memories of homework
Filled them with dread!

New pencils, new folders, and uniforms too!
New teachers, new friends…
Their anxiety grew!
The parents just giggled when
They learned of the fright
And shouted at bedrooms –

“Go to bed! It’s a school night!”

Kindergarten celebrates the 101st Day of School

This is one of my favorite days, the 101st day of school! We celebrate by dressing up as dalmatians and counting 101 of our favorite items. We count these items in groups of twos, fives, and tens.

Blessings

Each year I am blessed with the generosity of you parents. This year is no different and I thank each of you for the support you provide my classroom. I was especially blessed with the donation of four iPads to my classroom along with headphones for them. This has made a huge difference in the authentic results I get from the children taking their reading assessments. Below is a picture of your students benefiting from your generosity. Thank you Andre and Shawnee Families for your donation and support. I will never forget how much you and the rest of our families have supported my class.

Happy New Year

I hope this post finds you all well rested from our Christmas break. The children came back so excited and eager to learn! Thank you for your generosity with donating coins to Birth Right and crayons for Haiti. We have over 50lbs of crayons for the students at the Kobonol Mission and I know how much they will be appreciated by the children there.

We have begun my favorite unit this month which is Arctic Animals. We have been learning all about penguins this week and will start on whales next week. We wrap up this unit with a field trip to the zoo on the 22nd.

Here are the snack and class calendars for the month of January.
